What adhesive to use to glue together wood?

I am trying to put together a model boat made of balsa wood. However epoxy and wood cement are not working. Is there anything else that will work to glue these balsa pieces together?What adhesive to use to glue together wood?

definitely use a wood glue. you can find a number of different brands at your local hardware supply store or lumberyard.
elmers wood glue works if you have clamps and store it in a dry place
I like gorilla glue for most projects. It does not take much but the down fall is you have to wet the area slightly to make it work.

Use can use any adhesive that is made for wood. However different glues Have different dry or Setting up ( the glue full holding strenght) times . But I find wood glue work the best for wood. However if you use this. Please do the following:





1) Read the manufacture directions for using their product





2) Make sure all surfaces that are going to be glue to together are free of dirt and other particles and are clean





3) apply a much glue as need to do the job. meanning wipe up any runoff or excess glue





4 Use the glue at the remmended room temperature, Don't apply glue in a freezing room. and don't use glue that is cold or frozen. It don't work to well.








5) If it as to be held into place to dry over night. Make sure you clamp,tie or fix in a jig of some type until the glues dries or set up overnight





6) Allow the glue to dry overnight, to allow it adhesive strenght to reach full strenght . Don't be in a hurry





7) Store the glue in a warm room and not in a cold one and don't let it sit unused for over six monthes it don't work too good. Unless you shake it from time to time





8) If the glue is flammable; store it in a flameproof container. and keep it away from flames or fire. Makes good sense here.





9) If you use a two part glue, Mix what you need to do the job. Wasted glue will cost you good money. You have other things you would rather send your money than wasted glue- Don't you think ? -

Elmer's white glue is great for this kind of thing. If the wood is a little too porous, ad absorbs the glue, spread a thin film of glue on both surfaces you want to adhere to one another. Let it dry. Now, put a little more glue on one surface, count to 50 slowly, and then stick them together.





If you need a thicker glue, try Aleene's Tacky Glue. That's easily available (not too expensive) in crafts supplies shops. You may also need to do the ';let a thin film of it dry first'; thing with this glue, too.

i think what you want is CA glue (CYANOACRYLATE) very similar to krazy glue, go to your local hobby shop and ask for CA glue, since you're using balsa get the medium, thin will just get soaked up in the balsa.
