I have a 97 vs commodore, how do you remove the side protective strips that are held on with the glue adhesive?

I have tried removing the small protctive strip from the front fender as a trial. The adhesive seems to be so strong, a bit of an over kill if you ask me. The paint is in really good condition so hopefully i can keep it that way. Thank you for any ideas.I have a 97 vs commodore, how do you remove the side protective strips that are held on with the glue adhesive?
you could try puting a bit of metholated spirits on the strip so it goese ounder ti, it may soften the glue enough to peel the strip off then use the metho to clean any remaning glue on the panels. try it in a not so noticably place firstI have a 97 vs commodore, how do you remove the side protective strips that are held on with the glue adhesive?
I don't know about using spirits on the paint it may damage it. I would try a heat gun this is a surefire way to get them off withou damage. You may even be able to salvage the strips this way if you wanted to save them.
