I'm looking to install a new LCD Glass on my iPhone 3G. What adhesive or glue do I use to fix and repair it?

You can buy a do it yourself kit at http://missionrepair.com which includes the correct adhesive and the replacement iPhone Glass and digitizer for around $69.


The repair process is to remove the lcd/digitizer assembly from the phone. Remove the LCD. Pry the broken glass/digitizer assembly off of the plastic LCD Frame. Remove all of the old adhesive. Install the new adhesive. Install the new Digitizer/Glass assembly. Reassembly the phone.


Here are a few things to watch out for: 1. There is a very fragile rubber seal around the edge of the frame. Its difficult, without practice, to remove the glass without damaging that seal. 2. The LCD Screen is very fragile and easy to crack when removing it from the frame. Be very careful here. The LCD is expensive. 3. The connector for the ear speaker is fragile and can be confusing to disconnect. If you damage this badly you will need to replace the logic board which is very expensive.

You are talking about two different things.





There is an LCD screen inside your phone, and then there is a piece of clear acrylic over it to protect it.





If it's just the cover that is cracked, you might be able to replace it - but if it's the LCD that is dead, then you are almost gauranteed to spend more money replacing it than if you just bought a new phone.

Well dude u need to actually buy the Iphone glass. The LCD is the display screen that shows the picture.If ur lcd is broken u actually have to look out for a new iphone.But if u have broken the glass cover u can replace it.U can also go to the apple store with the screen and just tell them to fix it up for . U can buy the screen in ebay.That's ok and smart thing to do.Then just go to apple and say ';Hey dude, can u fix this up for me'; :P......hope it helps!................cheers!
